What do the error messages on my SERIES-B DNA 75W mean?

Occasionally, you may find that your SERIES-B DNA 75w box mod device isn't performing as it usually does, and will be presenting one of the following error messages:

Check atomiser

If there is no tank connected to the device, pushing the power button will cause the OLED screen to display the ‘CHECK ATOMIZER’ error message. This error can also be caused by dirty connectors/threads, or a problem with the fitted coil.

Shorted

If the device detects a short circuit within the atomiser or wiring, it will display the ‘SHORTED’ error message. Check your coil build for shorts. This can also be caused by overtightening your atomiser onto the device.

Weak battery

When the remaining voltage in the fitted IMR battery drops below 3.4v, the OLED screen will display a ‘WEAK BATTERY’ error message. This can also be caused by using a battery with a low max. amperage rating. The device will continue to fire the atomiser, but will automatically step down the wattage to safe levels until the battery is charged/replaced.

Check battery

If the fitted battery has heavily discharged (beyond around 3.0v) and is in immediate need of recharging, or has been damaged, the ‘CHECK BATTERY’ error message will be displayed. The error message will flash for a few seconds each time the fire button is pushed, but the device will not fire the atomiser until the battery has been charged/replaced.

Temperature protected

When using a TC atomiser, if the device detects that the maximum temperature has been reached (as set by the user), the ‘TEMPERATURE PROTECTED’ error message will be displayed. The device will continue to fire, but at a lower wattage until the temperature drops below the maximum level again.

Ohms too high

When the resistance of the fitted coil is too high for the current wattage setting, the OLED screen will display the ‘OHMS TOO HIGH’ error message. The device will continue to fire, but not at the desired setting. Check the coil build and the desired wattage setting.

Ohms too low

When the resistance of the fitted coil is too low for the current wattage setting, the OLED screen will display the ‘OHMS TOO LOW’ error message. The device will continue to fire, but not at the desired setting. Check the coil build and the desired wattage setting.

Too hot

The device is fitted with onboard temperature sensors. Should the internal temperature of the device become too high, it will shut down and display ‘TOO HOT’ until the temperature drops back to a safe level.
